Proposed federation of, Newton Blossomville C of E School, Emberton School, North Crawley C of E School, Sherington C of E School, Stoke Goldington C of E First School and St Andrew’s C of E School.
I am writing to inform you that at a recent meeting of the full governing board of Newton Blossomville CE School a decision was taken to join the federation. The remaining 3 governing boards of the remaining five schools also took the same decision.
This decision follows a period of consultation with a range of stakeholders, as well as a significant amount of work undertaken by a working party representing all the schools, to produce a formal recommendation to take to the full governing boards.
The governing board has taken the decision on the basis that federation will build on existing successful collaborations, bring a range of education benefits for the children and will help to secure the future of small village schools at a time when funding is a concern for all schools nationally.
The first step towards federation will be the formation of a new governing board that will then develop the federation structure. This process will begin in the autumn term. There will be no changes affecting the children when they return to school in September. As the federation develops and takes shape, we will keep you informed on a regular basis about what is happening.
Please be assured that all the schools involved are committed to maintaining high standards, maintaining individuality and ethos and has teaching and learning for all children as first priority.
Whilst the consultation showed there was a significant majority in favour of the proposal, it did identify a number of concerns; A FAQ sheet accompanies this letter which will hopefully address some of your questions.
We look forward to working with our partners to develop a federation that will deliver the highest standards of teaching and learning based on shared best practice, whilst retaining the individual ethos and values of our schools that we all hold dear.
