  • Emotional Literacy

At Newton Blossomville CE School, we are committed to nurturing an environment that encourages emotional literacy in school.

Emotional literacy is essential for fostering a child's ability to understand, express, and manage their emotions. This skill set not only enhances social interactions but also contributes significantly to academic success.

To support this initiative, we centre our approach on the Zones of Regulation framework. This model provides our pupils with a clear understanding of their emotional states and equips them with tools to navigate their feelings effectively. By recognising which zone they are in—whether it be the red, yellow, green, or blue zone—children learn to identify their emotions and implement appropriate strategies for self-regulation.

Through this commitment, we aim to create a supportive atmosphere where emotional literacy thrives, ultimately benefiting both individuals and the wider school community.
